Big Fat Fail

I've failed my blog. I haven't been writing like I should and I haven't been doing my diet to the fullest either. It all started with a birthday party and drinks and it went downhill from there. I have been counting points though but I haven't really been keeping track like I normally do. I also haven't been able to post because I have been painting my house :) Which I love.

My social networks have been on my mind lately. I feel like I should take a break from them. I seem to get more things done when I am not on the computer. Hmmm , I wonder how that is. I'm thinking I am going to take another week off my blog and then jump back on the wagon. So my next post will be a weigh in so come back later on next week and see were I'm at. (I haven't even weighed myself.) But in the mean time let me tell you. It snowed in San Antonio Texas. Can you believe it, I can't. It wasn't a lot but was enough for some snowballs and fun. Hope everyone is doing ok. I Can Do It, I Can Do It, I Can Do It and I will. Starting Next Week ;)

Went to the gym tonight. I did the elliptical for about 30 minutes. I don't know if it's because I didn't drink enough water but I felt sick. Maybe it's because I stuffed myself at subway. Darn you Subway, Darn You! It was good though and I only had a sandwich. Ok I had a big sandwich but that's all I had. I swear.

So have you seen those commercials for Slimquick? You know the ones that have the cartoon husband and wife and they are on the same diet and he is losing all the weight and the wife is gaining or not losing anything. Well I had one of those commercials happen to me today in my very own living room.


My husband walks in and pulls his pants down right to his knees and goes look honey. I've lost so much weight they are just falling off.
Me (being sarcastic)- Good for you. I can't help but be a little jealous. It's natural. I'm so very proud of him though and I know soon my pants will fall off my hiney too.

Went to the gym today. Man do my knees hurt. I did about 30 minutes on the elliptical machine and then used some arm weights. I would have stayed longer but some people came in that were just watching me workout and it kinda creeped me out. They were older like in there 60's or so and the old man was watching my hiney in the mirror. So weird. I need to find a better time to go to the gym. It was a good workout though.

I had lunch with my sister yesterday at McDonald's and I had their Southwestern Salad with Grilled Chicken. I must say I like it and I am not normally fond of fast food salads. She also gave me some old point weight watchers books.. Thanks Sis! There are some really yummy looking recipes I want to try out.

I am going to weight in Tomorrow morning So I can see if I need to drop another point. I will post it but I am not going to log it with my other weights until Monday since Monday is my normal weigh in day. So come back and check tomorrow and see my progress.

No workout for me today. I watched my friends kids and now I am exhausted. By the time they left it was time for my kids to get ready for bed and I just couldn't go anymore. 0 Point Salad Dressing

3 Tbs Balsamic Vinegar
1 Cup of Water
2 Tsp of Splenda
1 1/2 Tsp of Dijon Mustard
2 Garlic Cloves (Minced)
Salt & Pepper To Taste

Add all the ingredients together and whisk. Serve Chilled.

Now here is the thing I know your thinking "Water"? Yeah Water. I wanted a 0 Point Dressing and this is the only way I could think of for the moment. In a normal Balsamic dressing you normally find EVOO. Do you know how many points EVOO is? 1 Teaspoon is 1 Point. Its high but EVOO is good for you, it's a good fat so if you want too , add that Teaspoon of EVOO to your salad. It's how ever you like it.

The 0 point Dressing can also be used to marinate meats . I think I might make some Chicken next week with it. I'll post about when I do :)

So I said I was never going to use Ranch again because the points are just crazy high so I made one. It super simple, I posted the link at the top with everything I ate. Dinner was really good. I will definitely be making that again and it was super filling. For Exercise I went for a walk again and did my normal crunches and push-ups. I really want to get a gym membership. They are opening a YMCA near me and they have childcare for the gym part. We might look into that. As for now I'm off to go clean. Keep up the Good Work People. I feel like I'm off to a bad start with my Flex Points. I went over my normal points today. If my salad dressing hadn't been so darn much I would have been fine. I need to find one that not so flipping much. I thought my dressing was only a few points for so much but come to find out me and Chris (My husband) added them up on his little weight watchers calculator he has on his phone while we were cooking and it had way more points then I thought it did :( I really need to find a low point dressing because I really like to have salads for lunch that way I can use most of my points for dinner.

Dinner tonight was Empanada's from Gina's Skinny Taste. So Good.

I highly recommend you trying them, even if you aren't on a diet. I used her recipe for Picadillo as well. This will be something I make again.

Exercise was a little bit of boxing on the Wii with Chris then after dinner in the nasty mist we bundled my kids up and we went for a fast paced walk. (Don't worry they were warm) It was a good walk. I could feel my legs burning and the uphill kicked my butt. Then I came home and did some crunches and lifted some weight. It's such a good feeling when you can see that you are actually losing and can see a difference in your body.

I also measured just my waist on Jan.3 and it was 42 in. (I know right) and as of today Jan. 11 it is 38 in. So I am losing inches as well :)

I can't believe it. Yay, I must be doing something right. I will be able to fit into my skinny jeans before you know it. So now that I have lost weight my points go down to 28 instead of 29. I'm going to weigh myself in the middle of the week to check to see if I need to lower my points any since I am only a few lbs from having to take another point away anyways. It was a busy day. We went to church this morning and then I came home and cleaned out my nasty fridge. That was a workout in itself. (Thanks Honey for Helping) Here's what's inside..






So we ate lunch at church and I guesstimated how many points I used. I ate a few things like a baked potato, salad and a little broccoli rice casserole. I tried to not over do it but man with all that food it's hard.

Tomorrow morning is weigh in time!!!!
I'm going to post my weight as soon as I get my kiddo on the bus for school. So make sure you check back so you can see! I'm So Excited!

For exercise today I put my little one in the jogging stroller and went for a fast paced walk. My son rode his scooter beside me for company. My hubby normally tags along with me but he didn't accompany me tonight. He only wants to walk on the weekends and I think we should do it during the week too. So I think I might be taking a few walks by myself. Also pushing that darn stroller was hard. I got out of breath a few times. (Don't laugh, you know you would be too) The streets around me vary from uphill to downhill to rocky to smooth. I felt my legs burning and thats GOOD! I know the fats just melting away.

Let's Talk Flex Points. These babies allow you to have that drink with your friend or go out to dinner and have a slice of pie. Weight Watchers allows you to have 35 Extra Points a week. I forgot to mention this in the beginning, sorry guys. So each week you get 35 Extra Points to do what you want with. If you don't use them all too bad, they DO NOT ROLL OVER! They start back at the beginning of the week again. So my Hubby and I have made Saturday to be our Cheat Day with our flex points. We went out and got take out for the first time in a week. That's awesome for us because we will normally go to sonic everyday and grab a soda and then maybe it's late so we run up to McDonald's cause mom's to tired to cook. Not only is it more healthy for us to eat at home with our kids but it's saving us money we don't need to spend.

So anyways we went to Wingstop and I feel so GUILTY. I know, I know. Why?? Well because I feel like I should stick to my diet all the way and I think I might end up doing just that and leaving my flex points for drinks throughout the week and just little stuff. I think one meal was to much for me. I felt like I over didn't. So that wont be happening again. Well at least not a big meal like that.

So for my exercise today I did a lot of walking around. We went and did our normal Saturday of running errands non-stop and then after dinner (because I felt guilty) We went for a long walk in our little neighborhood and then I came home and did some push ups, crunches and some lunges. My days are caught up now. Woo Hoo! No more posting the next day for the day before. So today my exercise consisted of Walking around the store shopping for like an hour, Going for a walk around our little neighborhood after dinner and last but not least Wii Bowling and Wii Baseball for Family Game Night. I know I really should be during more. I promise myself I will start a normal workout schedule this coming week. This past week was so crazy and out of whack I would have forgotten my head if it wasn't attached. I'm glad it's Friday though.

So I can't wait to weigh myself. (Weigh in day is Monday mornings) I haven't messed up on my points and I have at least been trying to be more active then I normally am. My husband has become addicted to weighing himself though. He will weigh himself before bed and then when he gets up in the morning and all I hear is "Honey, I lost 2lbs while I was just sleeping." So, I am happy to say my husband has lost like 7 lbs in a week. I'm so happy for him. I hope I have lost 7 lbs. So on to the food. I made Baked Ziti w/ Spinach tonight for dinner. It wasn't to bad. I liked the taste but the pasta wasn't my favorite and my hubby ate all of his but my children refused. So it's not a big keeper for us here in my house. I used whole wheat pasta and man you can really tell the difference in normal bleached pasta's to the whole wheat. It was almost like a grainy texture. I think that's the thing that bothered me most about the meal.

So as you can tell I really like Gina's Skinny Recipes. She has so much to choose from I just keep going back for more. So Thanks Gina for all the Recipes! Hope you guys head over there and try out a few recipes for yourself.
